Import leads with the Lead Import Tool

Bring hundreds or thousands of leads in from a spreadsheet or another CRM, with clear reports on anything that didn鈥檛 import.

Who this is for: Brokers, Enterprise admins

Before you start

  • Export your leads to CSV (for example from HubSpot, a spreadsheet or another lead platform).

  • Every row needs these columns: Opportunity ID, Applicant Type, First Name, Last Name, Mobile, Email.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings and open Import.

    Import in Settings
  2. Click Download Leads Template and copy your data into it.

    Download Leads Template button
  3. Optional: add a Stage Name and Label Name for each lead. If you set a stage, you must also set a matching label.

  4. Click Choose File and upload your CSV.

    Choose File
  5. Map each CSV column to an Effi field. Effi highlights unmapped fields and warns about commonly missed ones such as Loan Amount. Fix any alerts, then confirm.

  6. Start the import. Progress updates on its own, so there's no need to refresh. Allow roughly 1 minute per 10 records.

Check the result

  1. Open Import History to see each import's status and totals (successful and failed).

    Import history record status
  2. If the status is Partial Success, click Download error report. It lists the row number and reason for each skipped record (for example, a duplicate opportunity).

    Download error report
  3. Fix those rows and import them again.

Reassign many leads at once

When a broker leaves or workloads change, create a CSV with each Lead ID and the new Assigned Broker, then import it. All assignments update in one go.

What you can import

  • New leads, and updates to existing leads

  • Applicants

  • Employment

  • Notes
